But don’t worry. I am here to help you with my experience on how you can reduce your Fesco electricity bill. In this article, I will share some tips and methods that will help reduce your Fesco electricity bill.

Reasons for High Electricity Bill

There are a few reasons that might be increasing your Fesco bill. If you know them, it can help you fix the problem and reduce your electricity bill.

Using More Appliances

In every home in Pakistan, especially in Faisalabad, we use lights, fans, or chargers. If you leave these appliances on when you don’t need them, it will increase your bill because they consume more electricity. If you want to calculate your bill, you can check the Fesco bill calculator.

Seasonal Changes

In the summer, due to the hot weather, sometimes we use ACs to cool down our rooms, and in winter, we use heaters to keep the room temperature comfortable. But do you know that these appliances use a lot of energy? This is why your bill increases during these hot and cold seasons.

Easy Ways to Cut Your Electricity Bill

Here are some simple tips I’ve shared to help you lower your bill without much effort:

Turn Off What You’re Not Using

It’s a small change, but switching off lights, fans, and appliances when you’re not using them can save you a lot of money. Don’t forget to unplug chargers and gadgets that are not in use!

Paint Your Roof White

This one might sound a bit odd, but it works! In summer, the sun heats up your roof and makes your house hotter. If you paint your roof white, it reflects the sunlight and keeps your house cooler, so you won’t have to run the AC as much.

Avoid Peak Hours

In Pakistan, electricity is more expensive during peak hours (around 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM). If you can, try to avoid using heavy appliances like washing machines or AC during these times. It can save you some money!

Switch to LED Bulbs

LED bulbs use up to 90% less energy than regular bulbs and last a lot longer. They’re easy to find and aren’t expensive. So, replacing your regular bulbs with LEDs can really help reduce your bill.

Use Fans Instead of AC

Air conditioners use a lot of electricity. If you’re just trying to cool down a bit, fans do the job with way less energy. Try using a fan instead of AC when possible—it’ll save you a lot of money.

Let in Natural Light

Instead of keeping your lights on during the day, open your windows and let the sunlight in. This will help you reduce the use of electric lights and lower your electricity consumption.

Use a Water Heater Timer

A water heater timer is a great investment. It makes sure your water heater only runs when you need hot water, saving energy and reducing your bill.

Consider Solar Power

Solar panels might seem like a big investment at first, but they can save you a lot of money in the long run. By using solar power, you can cut down on your reliance on the grid and reduce your monthly bill.

Be Smart with Your Fridge

Refrigerators use a lot of energy. Don’t overload your fridge, and try to avoid opening the door too often. Every little bit helps!

Wondering if an AC uses more electricity than a fan? Yes, it does! ACs use a lot of power, while fans use much less. So, if you want to save, use a fan instead of AC when you can
