How FESCO Billing System Works
Do you know how the FESCO Billing System works, or do you want to learn about its process, including data entry, bill generation, and distribution, along with all other components?
FESCO is a major electricity distribution company in Pakistan, serving eight districts, including Faisalabad, often referred to as the “Manchester of Pakistan.” A well-managed billing system is essential for such companies to ensure efficient revenue collection and smooth operations.
Components of the Billing System
The following are the components of the billing system:
Meter Reading
FESCO uses both manual and modem-based methods for collecting meter readings.
Manual Method
FESCO employees physically visit customers’ properties to check electricity consumption, which is displayed on meters.
Automated Meter Reading (AMR)
FESCO uses the AMR method, also known as Automated Meter Reading, in its service areas for frequent meter readings and providing real-time data for billing purposes.
Data Entry and Management
For data collection, FESCO employs both manual and automated methods. In the manual method, FESCO employees visit customers’ properties physically to collect meter reading data. The automated method involves collecting data through AMR, ensuring accurate and efficient data management.
Bill Generation and Distribution
Once the bill is calculated, including all tariff rates, taxes, and other applicable charges, it is transferred to all FESCO customers via Pakistan’s local post office or electronically.
